About This Game:
Downwell is a fast vertical roguelike about descending into a seemingly endless well filled with monsters, traps, caves, and treasure. The player enters armed with Gunboots, unusual footwear that fires bullets downward while also slowing a fall and damaging enemies beneath the character.

Runs are short and unpredictable, with randomly arranged levels and upgrade choices creating different combinations each time. Its limited color palette and simple controls keep attention on movement, enemy patterns, and maintaining momentum during the descent.

How the Gameplay Works
Players move left and right while falling, jump from platforms, and fire downward with the Gunboots. Ammunition replenishes whenever the character lands, making platforms important not only for safety but also for maintaining offensive ability.

Jumping on enemies without touching the ground can build combos and improve rewards. Shops and upgrade selections provide health, weapon changes, and special effects, while later areas introduce increasingly dangerous creatures and environmental hazards.
