Jagged Alliance 3 is a tactical strategy game about hiring mercenaries and leading them through the fictional country of Grand Chien after its president disappears and a hostile force called the Legion takes control. The campaign combines turn-based battles with strategic map movement, contracts, finances, and faction decisions.
Mercenaries have distinct personalities, skills, relationships, prices, and personal histories. Building a strong team is not only about statistics, because some characters work well together while others may refuse contracts or cause friction.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat uses turn-based movement with cover, line of sight, weapon ranges, aimed shots, explosives, stealth, suppression, and environmental destruction. Mercenaries can target specific body parts and spend additional Action Points to improve accuracy.
On the strategic map, squads travel between sectors, defend settlements, train militia, repair equipment, heal injuries, and manage contracts. Weapons can be modified, and campaign choices can change local relationships and story outcomes.
