About This Game:
Jester: A Foolish Ritual is a medieval survival horror game set inside an abandoned castle controlled by a terrifying supernatural Jester. Players awaken as resurrected knights and discover that escaping the fortress requires completing a ritual capable of breaking the curse. The problem is that the castle is filled with traps, hidden objectives, and a relentless creature that can appear when the group is at its most vulnerable.
The game can be experienced alone or through online cooperative play. Locations of important objects and other elements can change between attempts, preventing players from simply memorizing one perfect route. The dark castle, limited information, and unpredictable encounters turn exploration into a constant balance between searching quickly and avoiding unnecessary danger.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore the castle looking for hidden runes required to open the ritual chamber. Rooms must be searched carefully while traps and dangerous jack boxes create additional risks. Triggering the wrong object can attract the Jester, forcing players to escape, hide, or rethink their route through the castle.
In cooperative games, proximity voice chat means players need to remain reasonably close if they want reliable communication. Teams can stay together for safety or split up to search more quickly, but separating makes individual players easier targets. Once the necessary ritual components have been found, the group must complete its objective and survive long enough to escape the curse.
