LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 continues the LEGO adaptation of Harry Potter’s story through his later years at Hogwarts and the final conflict against Lord Voldemort. The adventure covers events inspired by the last three books and final four films, taking players through Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic, Godric’s Hollow, the Forest of Dean, and many other familiar locations.
The darker events of the later Harry Potter story are retold through the series’ lighthearted LEGO humor. A large roster of witches, wizards, students, professors, and magical creatures can be unlocked, with different characters possessing spells or abilities required to reach hidden areas.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore story levels while casting spells, solving puzzles, fighting enemies, collecting studs, and rebuilding LEGO objects. Different spells perform specific functions, such as moving objects, attacking enemies, controlling characters, or interacting with magical parts of the environment.
Completing a stage unlocks Free Play, allowing players to return using characters with different abilities and discover collectibles that were inaccessible during the first visit. Hogwarts and surrounding areas also act as a larger hub filled with secrets, optional activities, unlockable characters, and collectible items. Local cooperative play allows two players to progress together.
