About This Game:
SteamWorld Heist is a turn-based tactical game set in a mechanical science-fiction universe where robot pirates travel between spaceships searching for resources, treasure, and work. Players command Captain Piper Faraday and gradually recruit a crew of unique steam-powered characters while becoming involved in a larger conflict spreading across space.
Instead of using traditional grid-based tactical combat, the game allows characters to move freely within a limited distance and manually aim their weapons. Bullets can bounce from walls and ceilings, letting skilled players hit enemies who appear to be safely positioned behind cover.
How the Gameplay Works
Each crew member receives actions during a turn that can be used for movement, shooting, abilities, or interaction. Players manually aim firearms by adjusting the weapon angle, making accuracy dependent on positioning and player judgment rather than only character statistics.
Ricochet shots allow bullets to reach enemies around corners or behind cover. New weapons, equipment, hats, and crew members are collected as missions are completed. Characters gain experience and unlock additional abilities, encouraging players to experiment with different team combinations for each mission.
