About This Game:
Nidhogg 2 expands the unusual fencing competition of the original with a completely different visual style, additional weapons, more stages, and character customization. Two fighters battle across a sequence of connected screens, but defeating the opponent is only temporary because the real objective is to reach the far end of their side of the arena.
Matches constantly shift between combat and running for territory. A successful kill allows one player to advance, while the defeated fighter quickly returns farther along the route and attempts to stop the escape before too much ground is lost.
How the Gameplay Works
Players fight one-on-one using swords along with additional weapons such as daggers, bows, and heavy blades. Attacks can be blocked or avoided, and weapons can be knocked away, forcing fighters to rely on movement or unarmed attacks until another weapon becomes available.
After defeating an opponent, the winning fighter gains the right to run toward their goal. Reaching the final screen and escaping completes the match, but repeated clashes can send momentum back and forth several times before either player succeeds.
