Divekick is a fighting game built around an intentionally extreme idea: every character is controlled with only two action buttons. One button makes the fighter jump and the other performs a downward kick, removing conventional movement controls and long attack combinations.
Despite the tiny control scheme, matches focus heavily on spacing, timing, prediction, and baiting the opponent into a mistake. Each playable character modifies the basic rules with different jump arcs, kick angles, speeds, and special properties.
How the Gameplay Works
Fighters automatically face one another and cannot simply walk back and forth. Pressing Dive sends the character into the air, while Kick launches an attack diagonally downward; pressing the buttons on the ground can also move the character backward.
A single clean hit wins the round, making every decision immediately important. Special meters and character-specific abilities add further possibilities without turning the game into a traditional multi-button fighter.
