Planet of Lana II continues the journey of Lana and her small companion Mui as their home world faces a new struggle created by technology, ambition, and growing divisions between its tribes. The pair travel through hand-painted landscapes ranging from frozen mountains and forgotten ruins to underwater environments while uncovering secrets about their planet and its past.
The sequel places the relationship between Lana and Mui at the center of both the story and puzzle design. Lana has become more agile since the original adventure, while Mui remains essential for overcoming obstacles and interacting with parts of the environment that Lana cannot handle alone.
How the Gameplay Works
Players guide Lana through side-scrolling environments using platforming, observation, stealth, and environmental puzzle solving. New movement abilities such as wall jumping and more fluid momentum make traversal faster while creating opportunities for more elaborate platforming sequences.
Mui can be directed to move, wait, reach certain areas, or assist with mechanisms and creatures. Many puzzles require both characters to perform different tasks in the correct order. Dangerous machines and other threats occasionally require stealth and careful timing, while exploration gradually reveals the larger conflict affecting the planet.
