Ratropolis combines real-time city defense with deck-building strategy. Players lead a colony of rats attempting to survive repeated enemy attacks while expanding a settlement, developing an economy, recruiting defenders, and improving the deck of cards used to issue commands.
Cards represent buildings, military units, economic actions, policies, and special abilities. Because each run provides different card opportunities, settlement development changes depending on the leader chosen and the strategies the player builds around available cards.
How the Gameplay Works
Players draw cards continuously and spend resources to construct buildings, recruit soldiers, earn money, or activate special effects. Enemy waves approach the settlement from different directions, requiring walls and military units to be placed where they can stop incoming threats.
New cards can be purchased, removed, or improved to make the deck more efficient. Different leaders emphasize particular strategies, while advisers provide additional effects. As days pass, stronger enemy waves and bosses test whether the colony’s economy and defenses can keep up.
