SCHROTT is a fast arcade-style roguelite driving game where a raccoon named Alfred races an improvised vehicle through chaotic junkyard environments. Instead of competing against traditional racing opponents, the main challenge comes from surviving procedurally generated routes packed with ramps, barriers, destructible objects, hazards, and opportunities to perform reckless stunts.
Everything is built around making the vehicle increasingly ridiculous and capable as a run continues. Scrap, parts, perks, and skills can be collected while driving, giving players new ways to improve performance and survive increasingly difficult sections. Its stylized comic-inspired visuals and junkyard setting support an intentionally exaggerated approach to racing.
How the Gameplay Works
Players drive through randomly assembled courses while avoiding obstacles, smashing objects, jumping from ramps, and trying to travel as far as possible. Loot collected during the run can improve the vehicle or provide new abilities, so each attempt develops differently depending on what parts and upgrades appear.
Crashes and mistakes can eventually bring a run to an end, after which another attempt begins with a new course layout and another chance to create a stronger build. Because tracks are procedurally generated, memorizing a single route is not enough. Players instead have to react quickly to obstacles while deciding which opportunities for loot and stunts are worth the risk.
