About This Game:
Shortest Trip to Earth is a roguelike spaceship management game about a crew attempting to return home through a hostile and unpredictable universe. Each expedition crosses procedurally generated sectors containing alien factions, strange events, resources, trade opportunities, and dangerous enemy vessels.
Ships contain individual rooms and systems that must be powered, staffed, repaired, and protected. Crew members have different skills and needs, while the limited supplies aboard the vessel make every long journey a resource-management problem.
How the Gameplay Works
During ship battles, players target enemy systems while managing weapons, shields, engines, power, and crew assignments. Damage can disable important rooms or start fires, forcing crew members to leave their normal duties and perform emergency repairs.
Between battles, players navigate the sector map, explore planets, trade, gather resources, recruit crew, and improve the ship. Because encounters and routes change between runs, losing a vessel means beginning another journey with new circumstances.
