About This Game:
The Last Haven is a post-apocalyptic survival strategy game set after a devastating nuclear war has left civilization in ruins. Players take responsibility for a small settlement of survivors trying to endure radiation, collapsing infrastructure, scarce resources, and a harsh nuclear winter. Rebuilding even a basic community requires balancing immediate survival needs with preparations for future threats.
The settlement gradually develops through new structures, technologies, production chains, and defensive capabilities. Food, heat, materials, weapons, and ammunition all become important as the population grows. Outside expeditions can provide valuable supplies, but hostile forces and dangerous conditions make every attempt to expand beyond the settlement a risk.
How the Gameplay Works
Players construct buildings, assign survivors to jobs, gather resources, research technologies, and maintain the systems needed to keep the colony functioning. Cold conditions place additional pressure on food and heating supplies, while shortages can quickly affect the health and survival of residents. Production therefore needs to be planned around both everyday consumption and emergency reserves.
Combat and defense also become increasingly important. Weapons and ammunition can be produced for settlement security, while groups can be sent into surrounding areas to search for additional resources. Decisions about expansion, research, military preparation, and resource spending determine whether the settlement can survive long enough to become self-sufficient.
