About This Game:
The Walking Trade is a zombie-apocalypse shop simulator where running a successful business is almost as important as surviving the undead. Players take control of a store serving survivors who still need food, batteries, equipment, and other supplies even while civilization is collapsing. Shelves, prices, staff, crafting stations, defenses, and available stock can all be adjusted as the business develops.
Customers are not the only visitors. Zombie attacks can interrupt ordinary trading and force players to personally defend the building using firearms, melee weapons, barricades, and other equipment. Workers can be assigned to customer service, scavenging, or security, letting the store become more capable as both demand and danger increase.
How the Gameplay Works
During normal business hours, players organize shelves, stock merchandise, set prices, and serve customers. Survivors can be hired to handle different jobs, reducing the amount of routine work the player needs to complete personally. Scavenging and crafting provide additional ways to obtain goods and useful equipment.
Zombie raids change the experience into direct first-person combat. Players defend the property using whatever weapons are available while guards and defensive structures help hold back the horde. Profits can then be spent improving the store, adding storage, building crafting stations, strengthening defenses, and expanding the operation for future days.
