About This Game:
Hollow Knight is a 2D action-adventure game set in Hallownest, a vast underground kingdom filled with ruined cities, forgotten pathways, strange creatures, and dangerous enemies. Players control a silent wandering Knight who descends into the kingdom and gradually uncovers the history behind its collapse. The journey leads through interconnected regions such as fungal caverns, ancient ruins, crystal mines, waterways, and overgrown gardens, each containing its own enemies, characters, secrets, and environmental challenges.

Exploration plays a major role, with new abilities gradually opening routes that were previously impossible to reach. The Knight encounters friendly characters, merchants, warriors, and powerful bosses while collecting charms and other upgrades that can change how combat and movement work. Much of Hallownest can be explored in different orders, rewarding players who return to earlier areas after gaining new abilities and search carefully for hidden rooms, optional challenges, and additional pieces of the kingdom’s story.

How the Gameplay Works
Players explore Hallownest from a side-scrolling perspective while using the Knight’s Nail for close-range attacks. Striking enemies generates Soul, which can be spent to restore health or cast powerful spells. Movement abilities such as dashing, wall jumping, and additional traversal skills are unlocked during progression, allowing access to increasingly difficult platforming sections and previously inaccessible parts of the map.

Charms can be equipped at benches to provide different bonuses, including improved attacks, additional Soul generation, defensive benefits, or changes to specific abilities. Geo collected from defeated enemies and other sources can be spent at merchants, but dying leaves the Knight’s Shade at the location of defeat along with the carried Geo. Returning and defeating the Shade restores the lost currency. Boss encounters require players to learn attack patterns, use movement carefully, and choose suitable charms before facing stronger opponents.

How to Install:
