DUSK – Intruder Edition is a fast-paced retro first-person shooter inspired by the intense action and level design of classic 1990s shooters. Players take control of a nameless treasure hunter who becomes trapped near the rural town of Dusk, Pennsylvania, where cultists, possessed creatures, soldiers, and supernatural forces have taken control. The journey moves through isolated farms, industrial complexes, underground ruins, military installations, and increasingly strange environments as the player searches for a way deeper into the mystery surrounding the area.
The game is built around speed, exploration, hidden secrets, and aggressive gunplay rather than cover or slow tactical combat. Its campaign is divided into three episodes filled with interconnected rooms, keys, secret passages, traps, and large enemy encounters. The Intruder Edition combines the main DUSK experience with additional digital content, including the game’s soundtrack and graphic novel.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore levels from a first-person perspective while constantly moving, jumping, dodging projectiles, collecting keys, and fighting enemies with a large arsenal of weapons. The selection ranges from sickles and swords to pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, explosives, and powerful supernatural weapons. Many firearms can be dual-wielded, allowing players to increase their firepower while dealing with larger groups of enemies.
Levels reward exploration with hidden rooms, health, armor, ammunition, and other useful pickups tucked away behind unusual walls or difficult-to-reach areas. Movement is deliberately fast and allows techniques such as jumping, sliding, and rapid directional changes during combat. Alongside the three-episode campaign, the game includes Endless Mode for surviving repeated enemy waves and DUSKWorld for arena-style multiplayer battles.
