About This Game:
Little Nightmares is a dark puzzle-platforming adventure about a small child named Six who attempts to escape from the Maw, a mysterious underwater facility filled with oversized rooms, disturbing inhabitants, and dangerous creatures. The story is told mostly through environments and visual details rather than direct explanation.
Six is small and physically vulnerable, making ordinary objects such as tables, cupboards, doors, and kitchen equipment appear enormous. The contrast between her size and the Maw’s inhabitants creates a constant sense of danger as she moves through increasingly unsettling areas.
How the Gameplay Works
Players guide Six through side-viewed 3D environments by climbing furniture, jumping across gaps, pulling objects, opening passages, and solving environmental puzzles. A lighter provides illumination in dark areas but does not function as a weapon.
Many encounters involve stealth rather than fighting. Six may need to hide beneath furniture, avoid noisy surfaces, move while an enemy is distracted, or run when discovered. Checkpoints allow repeated attempts at difficult chase sequences and puzzles without restarting entire chapters.
