Saints Row 2 is an open-world crime action game that returns players to the city of Stilwater after the Third Street Saints have lost control of their former territory. After creating a custom character, players rebuild the gang and begin challenging the rival organizations that have divided the city between them.
The game combines a serious gang-war storyline with deliberately exaggerated activities, extensive customization, large firefights, vehicle theft, and free-roaming chaos. Players can change their character’s appearance, clothing, vehicles, gang style, and several other elements while progressing through the criminal underworld.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore Stilwater on foot or using cars, motorcycles, boats, helicopters, and other vehicles. Story missions become available by earning Respect through side activities, encouraging players to participate in different challenges rather than concentrating entirely on the main campaign.
Combat includes firearms, explosives, melee weapons, and environmental objects, while vehicles can be stolen directly from the streets. Activities range from racing and escort jobs to deliberately unusual challenges. Cooperative play allows two players to experience much of the open-world campaign together.
