About This Game:
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is an open-world action-adventure game set in Hong Kong, following undercover police officer Wei Shen as he infiltrates the Sun On Yee Triad. Wei must earn the trust of dangerous criminals while secretly gathering evidence for the police, placing him between two very different sides of the law. The story explores organized crime, loyalty, betrayal, and the increasing pressure Wei faces as he becomes more deeply involved with the people he has been assigned to investigate.
The Definitive Edition combines the original game with its additional content while improving the visual and technical presentation. All 24 previously released DLC packs are integrated, including the story expansions Year of the Snake and Nightmare in North Point. Players can explore Hong Kong, complete main missions and side activities, take part in street races, fight in martial arts tournaments, purchase vehicles and clothing, and experience additional missions beyond the original campaign.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control Wei from a third-person perspective while freely exploring Hong Kong on foot or using cars, motorcycles, and boats. Hand-to-hand combat is a major part of the experience, combining punches, kicks, grapples, counters, and environmental attacks against groups of enemies. Objects and hazards around the environment can be incorporated into fights, while new martial arts techniques and other abilities become available as Wei progresses.
Gunfights use a cover-based shooting system, while driving includes high-speed pursuits, street races, vehicle combat, and action hijacks that allow Wei to leap from one moving vehicle onto another. Progression is divided between Triad, Police, and Face experience, with each providing different abilities and rewards. The additional Definitive Edition content is integrated alongside the main game, expanding the available missions, outfits, vehicles, weapons, and side activities.
