About This Game:
Starship Titanic is a science-fiction comedy adventure created around a story by Douglas Adams. An enormous luxury spacecraft unexpectedly crashes into the player’s home before its robotic crew invites the confused passenger aboard. Once inside, it becomes clear that the supposedly perfect Starship Titanic has suffered a major systems failure and is incapable of completing its journey.
The ship is filled with malfunctioning robots, strange rooms, locked areas, and puzzles connected to its damaged control systems. Repairing the vessel requires learning how the robotic crew behaves, locating important components, and gradually gaining access to higher passenger classes and restricted sections of the ship.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore the ship from a first-person perspective, collecting objects and using them to solve environmental puzzles. Robotic characters can be spoken to using a text-based conversation system that allows players to type questions or statements rather than selecting only from predetermined dialogue choices.
Progress requires understanding the personalities of different robots and discovering how to persuade or manipulate them into helping. Items, clues, hidden passages, and strange machinery eventually lead toward the missing components required to restore the ship’s intelligence and return the Titanic to working condition.
